How to deny a ''malicious'' software from processing?

Have you wonder sometime even when you have an anti-virus, you still face such problem as pop-up advertisement? So, there are three ways to get rid of this problem. First, find out some strange name from processes in task manager. Verify the pid number from internet and search for the name in local drive, try to end the process of the name and quickly delete the file.
If this doesn't work or file cannot be found. Use second method, go to 'msconfig'. Search for some weird name in services or startup, stopped it from working. Remember the manufacturer should not be Microsoft as this is the Operating System.
Last one, is to go to program features from control panel and remove the software.
